Over 61,300 households join solid waste classification program

(ĐN)- According to Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment, as of July, the solid waste classification program has been carried out in 67 communes and wards, 106 schools and three markets.

 

(ĐN)- According to Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment, as of July, the solid waste classification program has been carried out in 67 communes and wards, 106 schools and three markets.

Accordingly, more than 61,300 households participated in the program. Of them, nearly 28,600 households sorted the solid waste at source to suit treatment technologies, representing 73 percent of the total households.

The total amount of classified solid waste collected and treated reached 304 tons per day, reaching 16.6 percent compared with 1,833 tons of solid waste generated a day in the province.

Bien Hoa city, Vinh Cuu and Thong Nhat districts have built plans to implement the Project of the provincial People’s Committee on classifying solid waste at source in the province in the 2020-2025 period.
