(ĐN) - The 2019 Month for Humanitarian Activities has been launched in Dong Nai on May 7 by the provincial Red Cross Association.
The event aims to mark International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day (May 8) and the birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19).
This year’s programme, themed “Connecting, Sharing, and Spreading”, aims to help 8,000-10,000 needy people in the locality.
The program start on May 1 and run through until May 31.
Speaking at the event, Chairwoman Do Thi Phuoc Thien of the provincial Red Cross Association said that the month focuses on activities to build charity houses and a school in Vinh Cuu district, provide free meals, gifts and medical check-ups and medicines, and livelihood solutions for poor people.
On this occasion, the association visited and presented VND40 million to poor patients who are being treated at Dong Nai General Hospital and Dong Nai Children Hospital.
