(ĐN) – In 2018, Dong Nai Red Cross Associaton raised some VND151 billion for relief, healthcare and humanitarian activities.
The figure was revealed at a conference on January 18 to review the association’s activities in 2018 and set out tasks for 2019.
Particularly, the association spent around VND119 billion to provide financial assistance to help disadvantaged families to develop production and stable their lives, handed over cows to households with difficult circumstances, offered free meals to poor patients, and presented wheelchairs to disabled people, etc.
In this period, the association also provided free medical check-ups and eye surgeries to more than 396,000 people. It also launched humanitarian blood donation campaigns and collected over 31,000 blood units.
In 2019, the association will continue its efforts to fulfill the set targets.
