Long Khanh town was established and put into operation on January 2, 2004 under the Government’s decision. The town includes 15 administrative units, comprising 6 wards and 9 communes, covering 19,175 hectares.
In late 2015, the town was recognized as second-grade urban area by the Ministry of Construction.
