Dong Nai to foster collecting information on fallen soldiers

In 2017, the Steering Board for the Search and Collection of Fallen Soldiers' Remains (Steering Board 1237 in short) of Dong Nai province, districts and towns excavated 15 graves, including three mass graves in different localities of the province.

 The outcome was announced by the board at a conference on reviewing the implementation of a project on searching for and gathering remains of martyrs in 2017 and rolling out missions for next year.

Last year, the steering board worked closely with military units to identify 85 sets of remains of soldiers who died in Bien Hoa airport in 1968, held 7 memorial services for martyrs and met with martyrs’ relatives, historical witnesses and veterans.

Next year, the province will continue leading and instructing the collection and verification of information about fallen soldiers, hold seminars and prepare carefully the plan on searching and gathering remains of martyrs in Bien Hoa, Trang Bom, Long Thanh, Long Khanh, Xuan Loc and Cam My.
