(ĐN)- On June 7, Dong Nai provincial Women Union held a meeting to assess its activities in the first half of the year and deploy tasks for the last six months.
Since the beginning of this year, the union and its agencies raised more than VND1.1 billion to build 28 charity houses, awarded over 500 scholarships to disadvantaged students, presented nearly 7,000 gifts to poor members.
Besides, the union mobilized over VND27 billion from rich members to help some 9,400 members with difficult circumstances to develop household economics.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Secretary Phan Thi My Thanh of the provincial Party Committee expressed her hope that the union will continue efforts to follow its political tasks, renovate operational methods to better care for women’s practical interests, improve the qualifications of its officials at all levels.
