Over 618,000 students begin new school year

(ĐN)- More than 618,000 pupils and students in 824 schools from kindergarten to higher education levels across Dong Nai started their new academic year on September 5.

 

(ĐN)- More than 618,000 pupils and students in 824 schools from kindergarten to higher education levels across Dong Nai started their new academic year on September 5.

On the occasion, many leaders of the province and the Departmen of Education and Training attended school-year starting ceremony in various schools throughout the province, especially those in remote areas.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Tran Van Tu joined students and teachers at Nguyen Trai high school in Bien Hoa city in a such ceremony. In the 2014-2015, the school saw the high graduation passing rate at 98.9 percent, 80 percent of them have passed the university entrance exams.  The school’s students won 81 prizes at provincial contests.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PC) Dinh Quoc Thai also attended the opening ceremony of the new school year at Ngo Quyen high school in Bien Hoa city. At the event, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai awarded excellent emulation flag to the school for its achievements in the last school year.

Vice Chairman of PC Nguyen Phu Cuong joined the teaching staff and students of Nguyen Binh Khiem high school in Nhon Trach district in the opening ceremony. Over the past five years, the school has made many efforts to raise the quality of education and training activities. It saw the graduation passing rate at 95 percent in the 2014-2015 school year. The school’s students won 17 prizes at the national contest of excellent students. 

Teachers and students of Xuan Loc high school welcomed their new school year in the presence of Vice Chairman of PC Tran Minh Phuc. 

On this occasion, the school presented scholarships to its studious poor students.
