(ĐN)- Dong Nai Youth Union and Department of Natural Resources and Environment on September 19 organized a launching ceremony to respond to the 2015 Clean Up the World Campaign.
Under the theme ‘Take Action for Sustainable Rural Environment’, this year’s campaign aims to stress the role of Vietnamese rural areas in environmental protection for advanced and sustainable production and raise public awareness of environmental concerns and to clear local villages of rubbish.
Addressing the event, Deputy Secretary Nguyen Cao Cuong of Dong Nai Youth Union called on individuals, organisations and businesses across the province to join hands in protecting the environment in general and the environment in rural areas in particular.
"Clean Up the World" encourages participants to organise an activity on or around the weekend to celebrate environmental successes from cleaning up, conserving water, planting trees, raising environmental awareness, and education initiatives.
The main activities of the event will include discontinuing use of plastic bags, planting trees, collecting and recycling wastes, encouraging people to use friendly environmental products.
After the launching ceremony, Vinh Cuu district’s young people and volunteers began their community work at schools and some areas.
