(ĐN)- On August 12, The Lawrence S. Ting Memorial Fund in cooperation with Dong Nai provincial Red Cross Association presented 100 wheelchairs worth VND174 million people with disabilities in the province.
So far, the fund and the Phu My Hung Corp. provided more than 14,500 means of transport for the disabled across 57 provinces and cities nationwide in order to facilitate their daily activities and social integration. The fund also donated 50 computer, laptop, projector screens and microscopes totaling VND612 million to Doan Ket high school in Tan Phu district.
According to Nguyen Van Xuan, Vice Chairman of the provincial Red Cross Association, Dong Nai is now home to over 19,000 disabled people, most of them are in difficult circumstances. Annually, the association provides more than 500 wheelchairs to beneficiaries.
