Last year, the contest was held in 14 provinces and cities nationwide, attracting more than 39,300 from 677 junior high schools.
In Dong Nai alone, the competition attracted over 1,200 students from 48 junior high schools in Bien Hoa city, Long Thanh, Vinh Cuu, Dinh Quan, Cam My, Trang Bom and Thong Nhat districts. As a result, there were 18 contestants to enter the final round.
At the ceremony, the organizing board awarded the first prize to eighth-grader Pham Nguyen Ngoc Vy of APC School, who earned 92/100 points at the contest, and 2 second, 3 third and 12 consolation prizes to other students. Moreover, 10 schools in Dong Nai were also honored for their outstanding performance.
TOEFL Junior Challenge is an annual English competition for junior high school students in Vietnam which uses an international assessment test to evaluate the English proficiency of participating students.
Participants entering the 2nd round of TOEFL Junior Challenge will receive international TOEFL Junior score sheets from ETS which are globally recognized. They can use these score reports to apply for English studying programs, scholarships as well as language exchanges in Southeast Asia and worldwide.
