According to the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC), the ceremony will be held on February 8 in Thong Nhat district’s Xuan Thanh commune. At present, residential roads connecting with the expressway have been completed to make it available for travel.
The Vice Chairman asked the province’s police force to well prepare for controlling the traffic and ensure the safety for the ceremony. Drivers can run on the full length of the 55km expressway from 4:00pm on the same day.
The most modern expressway of Vietnam, according to the evaluation of the Ministry of Transport, is a part of the north-south expressway system and is located in the key economic zone comprising Ho Chi Minh city and two provinces of Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
Its total investment is about VND20.63 trillion ($966.7 million), most of which is financed by the Asian Development Bank and the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
The road, on which work began in October 2009, runs from HCM city through Long Thanh district to reach Dau Giay town, also in the province.
