(ĐN)- Dong Nai Provincial Committee for Catholic Solidarity on Wednesday organized a ceremony to review its patriotic emulation campaigns in 2014.
Last year, Catholic followers in the province actively joined in charitable and social campaigns. Accordingly, they have donated more than VND124 billion for social and charitable activities.
The money was used to provide free surgeries to 584 kids with cleft lip and palate and children with eye diseases, perform free heart operation for three others, offer free medical check-ups and medicine to poor people, and award scholarships to studious poor students.
Moreover, local Catholics also helped improve rural transport, built charitable houses, provided preferential loans to poor people, etc.
