(ĐN)- Over the past years, Long Khanh town’s Party and authorities have made many efforts to carry out policies to support ethnic minorities. Particularly, the town has paid due to attention to rural infrastructure development, launched agricultural promotion programs that help ethnic people strengthen the capacity of agricultural production, focused on preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of ethnic minority groups in the locality, contributing to improving their physical and mental condition.

Long Khanh town has so far had 9 out of 9 communes that completed all criteria on the building of new-style rural areas. People's living conditions there have been improved. The district now has only 180 poor households, accounting for 0.84 percent of the total local households, and is doing its best to become the first in the province to be recognized as new rural one. The number of the poor ethnic households is 77. Long Khanh's annual average per capita income is VND38.6 million. Particularly, Xuan Tam, where is home to Khmer people, is one of the district’s communes having the highest per-capita income of more than VND48 million.
