(ĐN)- Over the past years, national programs for socio-economic development (Programme 134, 135) have been carried out effectively and have given a facelift to in Xuan Thien commune, Thong Nhat district.
Accordingly, the programs have brought benefits to hundreds of local minority ethnic households. Particularly, 59 poor families have received houses, hundreds of others have been provided with seeds, breeding animals, fertilizer, machines for production. The programs have also helped locals to access to clean water sources; 100% of residents are currently connected to the national electricity grid.
In the past time, the commune’s Party Committee and authorities have made ongoing efforts to implement ethnic policies, helping local ethnic people escape poverty and enhance the quality of life.
In 2010, the commune invested VND2.5 billion to build a cultural house to improve spiritual life for Choro ethnic people in the commune.
Until now, living conditions in the Xuan Thien commune has been improved, with a significant reduction in the number of poor households and marked progress in education and healthcare.
