(ĐN)- Vinh Cuu district’s People’s Committee on November 12 had a working session with related agencies on the site clearance for the construction of the electronic fence to safeguard elephants.
The fence, which is expected to be 30 kilometers long, will be built in the forest areas in the district’s Phu Ly and Ma Da communes in order to protect the living environment of both local residents and the elephant population.
The project is part of the plan to preserve elephants until 2020.
The local residents in the two communes have agreed with the site clearance measures. The forest management department Dong Nai Natural and Cultural Reserve and the district will work together to propagandize the project to the residents in the two communes before implementing the other procedures for site clearance as well as deploying the project at the soonest time.
