The Ministry of Home Affairs on Sept 5 announced the 2013 results of the Provincial Public Administration Reform Index (PAR INDEX 2013), on which Dong Nai jumped to the 17th position compared to 43 rd last year, meeting over 80 percent over the criteria for reform completion.

Among the provinces and cities with indexes over 80 per cent, Da Nang ranked first with 87.02 percent, followed by Hai Phong city (86.93 percent) and Binh Duong province (86.86 percent).
30 provinces and cities fared better than in 2012, such as Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Binh Thuan, Ha Tinh, Dong Nai, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh, while 30 others ranked lower.
The index is an important foundation for localities to assess their strong and weak points in order to improve administrative reforms to better meet the demands of the people and society.
