More than 40,000 children in the localities are beneficiaries of the program which is organized by the provincial Department of Education and Training with the purpose of building a young generation strong in body and mind.
The program supplies free milk to the children. Each child will drink four 180-ml cartons of milk four times a week.
The program costs more than VND18.1 billion, of which VND9 billion comes from the state budget, nearly VND2.7 billion from the milk supplier, Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk), and the remaining from children’s parents.
In addition, the program was also implemented from September 8 at Pouchen Vietnam Company’s Green World Kindergarten in Bien Hoa city and Feng Tay Group’s Orient kindergarten in Trang Bom district with more than 1,000 kids benefiting from the project.
The total cost of the project carried out at the two enterprise-funded kindergartens is VND468.4 million. Of which 50% comes from the enterprises and the remainder is from children’s parents.
As known, the project will be carried out at all pre-schools and for first graders at primary schools in the 5 localities.
