(ĐN)- The police in Nhon Trach and Trang Bom districts and in Bien Hoa city yesterday issued decisions to indict other eight people on charges of causing public disorder and destroying or deliberately damaging property.
So far, the local police have issued decisions to indict 37 people on charges of causing riots at industrial parks.
In addition, Dong Nai police have also detained other 381 people on suspicion of the riots.
Earlier, the riots were provoked by saboteurs who took advantage of peaceful marches against China’s illegal placement of drilling rig Haiyang Shiyou 981 in Vietnam’s waters since May 1.
The rioters attacked 162 companies including foreign-invested enterprises at industrial parks in Nhon Trach and Trang Bom districts and in Bien Hoa city, damaging corporate assets, looting property.
Mos of them are jobless and have no stable residence, the police said, adding they took advantage of the peaceful marches to incite others to launch attacks on businesses to steal assets from them.
After a short time, local police controlled the situation and maintain security and public order. Almost all the enterprises resumed their operations.
