(ĐN)- Over the first three months of the year, Dong Nai provincial Fatherland Front Committee and its branches raised more than VND52 billion to help the poor.
Particularly, the Front built and handed over 52 charity houses to local poor people, donated VND2 billion to construct school for Vietnamese children living in Cambodia’s KompongThom province, awarded scholarships to disadvantaged students, offered capital to difficult beneficiaries and financial support to patients with fatal diseases who are being treated at Dong Nai General Hospital.
Hunger eradication and poverty reduction is not a one-way support for disadvantaged people. It is also important to encourage the poor to make their own efforts to escape from poverty sustainably, stressed Chairman Vy Van Vu of the Front.
