(ĐN)- Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee has recently organized a meeting to deploy the Decision No. 44/2012/QD-TTg on rescue work of the fire fighting forces.
The meeting was attended by Major-general Nguyen Cong Son, Deputy Head of Vietnam's General Police Department for Administrative Management for Social Order and Safety, Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh of the provincial People’s Committee and 200 representatives of relevant departments, agencies and local enterprises.

At the meeting, Director Vo Van Sang of Dong Nai Fire Fighting and Prevention Police Department stressed that the municipal agents should continue to enhance the effectiveness and professionalism of the work, focus on boosting the effectiveness of popularisation work and mobilising people’s involvement in fire prevention and fighting, in addition to stepping up collaboration in fire fighting and rescue activities.
In the first three months of the year, a combined number of 619 fires and explosions occurred in the country, claiming 45 lives and causing over VND150 billion in damage. In Dong Nai, six cases of fire occurred in the province, killing 5 people and causing an estimated loss of more than VND1 billion.
Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh , who is also the Head of the provincial Steering Committee for Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Work, asked relevant agencies and localities to take various measures to raise the efficiency of fire prevention and fighting and rescue work, ensure that rescue equipment was available to proactively carry out rescue activities.
On this occasion, leaders from municipal People's Committees signed the emulation covenant on fire fighting and rescue work in 2014.
