3,500 pupils in Dong Nai get helmets

(ĐN)- On December 5, Dong Nai provincial Education and Training in collaboration with the Asia Injury Prevention (AIP) Foundation held a meeting to review the Helmets for Kids program in 2012-2014 period.

(ĐN)- On December 5, Dong Nai provincial Education and Training in collaboration with the Asia Injury Prevention (AIP) Foundation held a meeting to review the Helmets for Kids program in 2012-2014 period.

Over the past two years, 3,500 pupils of five primary schools in Dong Nai received safety helmets.

In addition, the Helmets for Kids program also conducted training sessions for teachers of these schools, giving them the skills to talk about the importance of helmet use to parents and students alike. Teachers will be able to organise road safety workshops for students and parents throughout the school year to sustain high helmet use rates and safe road behaviors.

As a results, the helmet usage rates among the students has jumped from 31 to 80 percent, the program also helps increase the awareness among teachers and parents of child helmet wearing.

On this occasion, AIP Foundation commended three primary schools including Vo Thi Sau and An Hao in Bien Hoa city and Trung Vuong in Long Khanh township for their contributions in implementing the project.

As known, over the past two years, nearly 10,000 pupils and 600 teachers of 32 schools HaTinh, Quang Binh and Dong Nai provinces benefited from the program under the sponsors of Johnson & Johnson Company.
