(ĐN)- Dong Nai province’s Red Cross Association in 2012 raised VND 78.8 billion for its relief work, humanitarian and health care activities, fulfilling 115.53 percent of the year’s plan. This was announced at a meeting to review the association’s activities in 2012 and work out tasks for the coming year.
Over the past year, the association also sent delegations to offer free medical check-ups and medicines to nearly 5,000 poor people in Champasak province in Laos, present gifts to flood victims in central provinces. The association and its agencies mobilized donations from 727 organizations and individuals to provide financial support to 1,800 poor households, help them develop production and stabilize life.
