Cat Tien District authorities are working with police in the investigation of the death of a wild bull in Cat Tien National Park in the central highland of Lam Dong Province.
Nguyen Van Dien, director of the park, said the forest management board had blockaded the park and seized the bull's bowels in Phuoc Cat 2 Commune after being informed of its death.
Police arrested two people, known only as Ngoc and Phong, for allegedly shooting the 360-kg bull as it searched for food near the commune's cultivated areas last Friday.
The police also seized the bull's head. Its meat was sold for VND100,000 per kilo. It's head and bile fetched VND3 million (US$144).
