A meeting to mark the 65th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day was organized at Dong Nai Conference Centre on July 26 with the attendance of Standing Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee Le Hong Phuong and Chairman of People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai.  

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Tran Minh Phuc affirmed that the “Paying debts of gratitude” movement has drawn the interest and attention of people across the province. The movement has stimulated many humanitarian activities, including building compassionate houses, caring for invalid soldiers and nursing heroic Vietnamese mothers.

On this occasion, the People’s Committee praised 44 individuals and 50 organizations across the province for actively taking part in the “Paying debts of gratitude” movement.

In the early morning of the same day, the leaders from the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee laid wreaths and burnt incense at the province’s Martyrs Cemetery in commemoration of revolutionary soldiers who laid down their lives for national independence.

In the evening of July 26, Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department Bui Ngoc Thanh, Vice Chairman of People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri, representatives from local agencies and departments and nearly 4,000 youth members attended candle-lighting ceremony at the province’s martyrs cemetery to commemorate the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national independence.
