Dong Nai’s localities launch activities to help the poor

(ĐN)- Dong Nai Charity Association on April 23 held a meeting to deploy its tasks for 2011. At the meeting, the association targets to mobilized VND1.5 billion to help the poor and build charitable houses.

On April 22, Nhon Trach district organized a charity musical performance to raise funds for the poor. Accordingly, the programme raised VND6.7 billion to assist poor people across the province.

Bien Hoa city-based Thong Nhat ward’s Red Cross Chapter cooperated with a delegation of doctors and nurses to provide free medical check-ups and medicines to 150 poor people, policy families and revolutionary contributors.

Thong Nhat district Women’s Union has recently handed over a charity house to the family of Mr. Diu Minh, a minority ethnic people facing housing difficulties in Xuan Thien commune.
