Dong Nai moves people to save elephants

Authorities of southern Dong Nai Provinces Vinh Cuu District this week began moving 1,334 households with more than 6,200 people from areas near the Vinh Cuu Nature Reserve.

The move aims to protect Vinh Cuu and to prevent further fights between wild elephants and local residents. Vinh Cuu links directly with the Cat Tien National Park and provides habitats for many kinds of wild animals, including elephants and tigers.
