(ĐN)- The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) has launched a program entitled “Replacing one million incandescent lamps with compact fluorescent lamps, also known as compact fluorescent light bulbs, for the poor in the southern provinces.
As of October 12, work has started to replace the old bulbs for poor households in Xuan Loc district under this program. The Dong Nai Youth Union has cooperated with the Xuan Loc district Electricity Company to implement the installation program. Each household will be given two 18-watt new electricity-saving bulbs. A total of 3,5000 poor households in Xuan Loc district will benefit from this program. The installation program for poor people in the district totaling nearly VND 300 million will last through November 30.
These new bulbs will help poor households reduce the electricity consumption in their homes and save some VND 140 million monthly on power costs.
