Megastar 3D comes to Haiphong, Danang, Dong Nai

Megastar Media Co. Ltd. will open three more 3D cinemas in early November and December at Megastar Cineplex Thuy Duong Plaza in Haiphong, Megastar Cineplex Vinh Trung Plaza in Danang and Megastar Cineplex CoopMart Bien Hoa in Dong Nai, bringing its total to eight 3D cinemas nationwide.

Megastar Media Co. Ltd. will open three more 3D cinemas in early November and December at Megastar Cineplex Thuy Duong Plaza in Haiphong, Megastar Cineplex Vinh Trung Plaza in Danang and Megastar Cineplex CoopMart Bien Hoa in Dong Nai, bringing its total to eight 3D cinemas nationwide.

Megastar opened the first two 3D cinemas last November in HCMC and Hanoi. Soon after the 3D blockbuster Avatar by James Cameron got a record US$1.5 million box office. Megastar’s 3D cinemas are equipped with 3D digital technology by Dolby, Infitec and Texas Instruments.

Since the technology came to Vietnam a year ago, Megastar has screened ten U.S. 3D movies including Avatar, Alice in Wonderland, Despicable Me, How to Train Your Dragon, Shrek Forever After, Step Up-3D, Toy Story 3, The last Airbender, and Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. This week, Megastar will show another 3D cartoon named Megamind.

Galaxy also has three 3D cinemas in HCMC and Saigon Movies Media opened its first 3D cinema early this month.
