Particularly, the district’s leaders led delegations to visit, present gifts and offer health care for local elderly people.
In 2009 alone, Xuan Loc handed over 13 charitable houses, gave 300 warm clothes, provided free medical cards, medical check-ups and medicines to thousands of elderly people.
Besides, the district’s Elderly Association and its grassroots units organized sport and entertainment activities, held tours for members to visit the tourist areas; the activities aim to help the elderly people to live happy and healthy lives.
Until now, about 600 out of nearly 7,000 elderly people have been honored for their outstanding business achievements as well as contributions to the district’s socio-economic development.
In the coming time, Xuan Loc will continue to pay more attention to both the material and spiritual life of the elderly, creating healthy and useful playgrounds for them.
