(ĐN)- The Infantry Officers’ Training College No 2 recently held a conference to review its performance in the third quarter of 2009. Also present at the conference were representatives from the Mass Mobilization Department of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Military Headquarters and organizations and units located in districts of Long Thanh and Trang Bom.
During the reviewed period, the college has closely coordinated with local authorities to prevent and fight against crimes and social evils and other violations in the area to ensure security and safety for local people. Besides, officials and students from the college also helped to clear drains, repair roads and schools in rural areas. It was a meaningful activity that helped tighten the ties between soldiers and people. Moreover, the college has actively participated in social activities. Accordingly, the college spent over VND 400 million to build 8 gratitude houses for policy families, donated VND 130 million to the provincial Fund for Agent Orange Victims and the Dong Nai Children Sponsor Fund, provided free check-ups and medicines to 200 ethnic minority people in districts of Long Thanh and Trang Bom with total cost of more than VND 30 million.
