(ĐN)- The Dong Nai Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has recently held a meeting to review activities in the first half of 2009 and work out tasks for the last half of the year.
Between January and June of this year, Dong Nai created jobs for over 45,980 laborers, reaching 54.09 per cent of the year’s plan. Accordingly, 25,457 laborers were recruited to work at enterprises. In addition, the province also created on-the-spot jobs for 20,524 laborers through the province’s social - economic program. In the other hand, a total of 7,561 jobs were cut in the first six months of this year by 53 enterprises operating in Dong Nai. However, 97 per cent of the job losers have found a new job. The department also set new targets for the rest months of the year, including creating jobs for around 39,000 laborers, lowering the unemployment rate to 2.7% and increasing the working time use rate in rural areas from 87 per cent in 2008 to 88 per cent in late 2009.
