(ĐN)- On May 9, at To Dinh Long Thien pagoda in Bien Hoa city, a large number of Buddhist dignitaries, believers and local authorities participated in a ceremony to celebrate the 2553rd Buddhist calendar.
Over the past years, Buddhism has made contributions to fostering the national solidarity. Buddhist monks, nuns and followers in Dong Nai have over the past years contributed over 14 billion VND to social and charity activities. In addition, the provincial Buddhist Sangha has encouraged Buddhist monks, nuns and followers across the province to actively join in campaigns for the national solidarity. Many Buddhist monks, nuns in the province have been honored by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, they also received the Medal for the Whole People’s Great Unity from Viet Nam Fatherland Front and Dong Nai Golden Star Award from the Provincial People’s Committee.
