(ĐN)- In 2008, Dong Nai Children Sponsor Fund mobilized nearly VND6.7 billion to help poor and disabled children across the province. Accordingly, 9,736 children with difficult circumstances have been offered free surgeries, health checks-up, vocational training and scholarships during the past year. Particularly, the Fund coooperated with Department of Health, provincial hospitals and the HCM City Heart Hospital to provide free heart operations to 46 children and eyes surgeries to 138 others.
In 2009, the Fund will continue to call for donations from enterprises and individuals to build charity houses and help unfortunate children.
