(ĐN)- On January 15, Xuan Loc district’s authorities held a get-together with village patriarchs, hamlet chiefs and prestigious people from ethnic minority groups in the district to celebrate 2009 Tet Lunar New Year Festival.
At the get-together, the leaders briefed the district’s socio-economic development situation in 2008 and highlighted the ethnic minority groups’ positive contributions to the district. In 2008, Xuan Loc district’s authorities and people made many efforts to improve material and spirit living standard of ethnic minorities and poor people in remote areas. Particularly, the district mobilized nearly VND10 billion to build 380 charity houses, upgrade streets, provide clean waters and create jobs for thousands of ethnic people. On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival, Xuan Loc presented thousands of gifts to ethnic people.
