During the past years, Buu Son Buddhist Temple in Ngoc Dinh village of Dinh Quan district in Dong Nai province has provided shelter for abandoned children and old people.

During the past years, Buu Son Buddhist Temple in Ngoc Dinh village of Dinh Quan district in Dong Nai province has provided shelter for abandoned children and old people.

Buu Son Buddhist Temple is home for orphans or children with special circumstances. A case of two children namely Tran Quoc Hoa and Tran Quoc Hao are examples. They were abandoned by their mothers when they were six-day old babies. They were reared by monks and nuns in this buddhist temple and they are around two year old. Apart from the two children, 21 orphans living in this home also receive loving care from monks and nuns.

Over the past nearly twenty years, Buu Son Buddhist Temple has collected orphan children and helped them to go to school. At present, many orphans graduated from universities and came back the buddhist temple to help orphan children as young adults. Besides, this buddhist temple also offers sheltered housing for old people who are AO victim and have no family to rely on.

In the other hand, Buu Son Buddhist Temple has set up a traditional medicine clinic in order to provide free check-ups and treatment for the poor. Buu Son’s clinic receives between 300 and 400 patients per day.

Besides donations from benefactors inside and outside the district, monks and nuns in this buddhist temple do take part in agricultural production to have money to care for orphans and old people. Currently, Buu Son Buddhist Temple has built 6 rooms for orphans and 10 rooms for old people and provided 4 rooms for inpatients. Buu Son Buddhist Temple has contributed with the society to help the children with special conditions to have better conditions to integrate into the community.
