Binh Son Children’s Rehabilitation Center expected to be put into operation again

(ĐN)- On August 12, a delegation of the provincial People’s Council, led by Standing member of the Council Nguyen Van Dung, had a working session with Rehabilitation Center for disabled and Agent Orange children in Binh Son commune, Long Thanh district.

As known, the center put into operation in 2002 under the donation of the Vietnam Children Support Fund aiming to provide rehabilitation services to 62 children with Agent Orange-related disabilities and other disabilities in Binh Son, Cam Duong, Suoi Trau, Binh An communes and Long Thanh town. However, until the year of 2005, the center had to stop operation due to lack of support and financial resource. Accordingly, the children have been looked after at home by local health staff and collaborators.

According to Long Thanh district’s People Committee, it’s necessary to put the center into operation again in order to be able to better take care of the children. Speaking at the working session, Mr. Dung also suggested Department of Health cooperate with Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to plan the project.

At the same day, the delegation visited Hoa Mai Orphanage, disabled children and law-breaking children in Long Thanh district and Bien Hoa city.
