(ĐN)- In the morning of November 23, Dong Nai provincial Red Cross Association held a solemn ceremony to receive second-class Labor Medal from the State President and celebrate the 61st anniversary of the establishment of the Viet Nam Red Cross.

During the past many years, Dong Nai provincial Red Cross has mobilized donations from organizations, enterprises and individuals in the province to help typhoon victims, build charity houses for the poor, give wheelchairs to disabled people, etc. Total cost for the programs is estimated at hundreds of billion of dong.
On this occasion, Viet Nam Red Cross awarded medals “For the Cause of Red Cross” to 34 outstanding collectives and individuals and gave VND300 million to the provincial Red Cross Association to build 30 charity houses in 2008. At the ceremony, 236 bicycles were presented to poor students in the province and nearly VND750 million donated by sponsors.
