Buddhists help victims of natural disasters

(ĐN)- A member of Dong Nai provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee said that activities of local Buddhists to celebrate the Vu Lan festival will focus on helping victims of natural disaster.

Vu Lan festival is the Buddhist holiday, a traditional event in praise of motherly love held annually in the seventh month of the lunar calendar.

The delegation of the provincial Buddhist Sangha gives gifts to flood-affected people in Dac Lua commune

On August 21, a delegation from the provincial Buddhist Sangha visited and presented 300 gifts to poor people in flood affected areas like communes of Dac Lua, Nam Cat Tien and Phu Lap in Tan Phu district, each valued at VND 320,000. Previously, the provincial Buddhist Sangha had organized visits and given 250 gifts for people affected by tropical storm No.2 in provinces of Dak Nong and Dak Lac.
