(ĐN)- The figure was released at a meeting held in Dong Nai on March 13 by the provincial Department of Education and Training, along with
the Study Encouragement Association of Dong Nai province to review the activities of the local Community Learning Centres (CLCs) in 2006 and discuss tasks for 2007.According to a report from the provincial Study Encouragement Association, between August 2005 and December 2006, over 524,000 people accessed learning opportunities in the local CLCs, bringing the total number of people who have studied in the province’s CLC to date to more than 1.1 million. The local centers has played an active role in disseminating the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws as well as provided various learning opportunities for community development and improvement of people’s quality of life. Besides, various training courses were organized by these centres which include courses on cooking and foreign language etc. with the aim of improving the knowledge and skills of the trainees while, at the same time, meeting the essential needs of the people.
In 2007, the local CLCs plan to expand their activities and foster and improve the quality of the training in order to operate more effectively.
On the occasion, the Provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to individuals and centres for their outstanding achievements.
