(ĐN) - The 7th Congress of Dong Nai provincial Women’s Union (2006-2011 tenure) was opened on the morning of December 8 in the presence of Truong Thi Khue, Permanent Vice President of the Viet Nam Women’s Union, Tran Dinh Thanh, Member of PCC, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Dong Nai province, Bui Ngoc Thanh, Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee and nearly 300 delegates.

(ĐN) - The 7th Congress of Dong Nai provincial Women’s Union (2006-2011 tenure) was opened on the morning of December 8 in the presence of Truong Thi Khue, Permanent Vice President of the Viet Nam Women’s Union, Tran Dinh Thanh, Member of PCC, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Dong Nai province, Bui Ngoc Thanh, Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee and nearly 300 delegates.
According to a report by the province’s Women’s Union, Dong Nai province’s women have made great contributions to the economic development of the Province over the past five years. Especially, women are active in a variety of economic areas such as industry, service, trade, banking, telecommunications, agriculture and fisheries etc.…. In addition, women have been given opportunities to advance in education and career. An increasing number of women in politics promotes greater gender equality. Furthermore, the proportion of women deputies increases every tenure. Dong Nai Women’s Union has played an important role in supporting women’s development through different activities. Providing loans to help women overcome difficulties and develop household economics has proved an effective supporting model over the recent past. The union has 390 thousand members.
Addressing at the congress, Member of PCC, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh praised contributions made by Dong Nai’s women to the province’s development. He also said that Dong Nai’s women should try harder to improve their abilities to participate in the global economy and cope with the challenges of international economic integration..
The congress elected a new executive board in the 2006-2011 term, including 37 people. Dao Nguyen was re-elected chairwoman of the union for the 2006-2011 term.
