VND 1,900 billion proposed for improving heath care services in Dong Nai

In 2006, nearly VND 64 billion will be granted to Dong Nai Provincial Health Service from State Budget for funding construction of new health clinics and hospitals and improvement of the existing health system from provincial to communal levels as well as payment for new medical devices. Besides, the Provincial Health Service sets up 18 medical projects. The Provincial Health Service is now required to coordinate and collaborate with relevant organizations to renovate existing healthcare infrastructure in accordance with rates established by the provincial plan and develop and implement an efficient and effective healthcare waste management plan including collection and the treatment of healthcare wastes from hospitals and other medical establishments.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Huynh Chi Thang emphasized the need for the Provincial Health Service to push for implementation of healthcare socialization program to improve the quality of health care services, and develop technological advances in diagnosis and treatment at public hospitals at the communal and district levels. He also noted that local government should create an environment that is attractive to domestic and foreign investors to Dong Nai’s medical services.
