(ĐN) - Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has just a meeting to summarize the work in 2005 and plan the work in 2006. The meeting was presided over by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Huynh Van Toi.
In 2005, Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs created jobs for 82,670 employees, reached 108.8% of the set target and increased by 5.7% compare with 2004. Accordingly, the unemployment rate in the urban area dropped from 3.4% in 2004 to 3% in 2005. During the past year, 69 vocational schools in the province trained 50,440 employees in which, 42,498 employees were trained in short term courses and the rest trained in long term courses. Besides, the poor household rate in the province was declined to 0.89% in 2005.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Huynh Van Toi praised the efforts and achievements made by Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs in 2005. He also emphasized the need to train a qualified workforce to meet recruitment demands of local entrepreneurs.
