In response to the questions of Dong Nai Newspaper’s reporter Kim Loan, Vedan Vietnam Director General Joel J. Wang provides the following answers.

Q: What do you think about the role of political organizations in your company?

A: Our goal is to commit long-term business operation in Vietnam. Thus, we not only pay close attention to revenues but also have a responsibility to take care of our workers. The company’s Party cell and its Youth Union cell were set up in 1992. Our Trade Union organization had been established earlier than two above organizations. I think that the company’s Party cell, Trade Union and Youth Union have always highlighted the initiative role of workers and also taken active part in strategic planning for company growth. They are believed to be effective in encouraging their members to do their jobs better and increase productivity and profits for our company. In acting “as a bridge”, the company’s Party Cell, Youth Union and Trade Union organizations help to build up a close relationship between employees and company executives.

Q: Could you please let me know the ways you can take full advantage of what these organizations offer?

A: There is a meeting between our executive management team and representatives from the company’s Party Cell and Trade Union organization, usually held each month. This meeting provides an opportunity for company executives to announce our future strategic plan in order to link workers and activities of our Trade Union and Party Cell. It is also to ensure workers’ needs are heard by company leaders. Besides, these organizations are secured the most favorable conditions allowing them to operate in an effective and efficient way. Furthermore, we pay particular attention to our workers’ needs including their entertainment demand. We usually organize and sponsor a series of activities for our employees including sports competitions and musical competitions such as football, table-tennis and badminton and karaoke. We also provide favorable conditions for our employees to attend many competitions with other companies.

Q: According to you, what the political organizations in your company need to do in the next time ?

A: The company Party Cell has to date developed to be a clean and strong one. Our Trade Union and Youth Union organizations have been awarded many certificates of merit for their achievements. I hope that the company Party Cell, Trade Union and Youth Union organizations will promote their sustainable development. Also, cooperation for the development of our company will be strengthened in close cooperation between company executives and these organizations.
