Dong Nai Women’s Club holds traditional meeting of retired women staff

(ĐN) – Dong Nai Women’s Club held a reunion to celebrate its 10th birthday at the meeting-hall in headquarter of the partys provincial executive committee on October 25, in the morning. The meeting was attended by Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh, Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, Mrs. Dang Thi Kim Nguyen, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee and representatives of other clubs from Ho Chi Minh, Ba Ria- Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, Tien Giang, Vinh Long and Ben Tre.  

The Provincial women’s club was founded in 1995 to mark the 65th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union. The Club is an association of women staff in Dong Nai province. It is also open to all retired women staff from the Provincial Womens Union. The club aims to provide vital care and support to all retired women within the province and encourage its members to participate in social activities. During the past ten years, the club has organized exercise and fitness activities, cultural and recreational activities… for its members. To raise money for its charities, the club also organizes fundraising activities in order to aid flooding victims, victims of Agent Orange, disabled children and poor people …. During the period, the club has donated more than VND 100 million to charity activities. VND 37 million of such amount was contributed by the club members and the rest collected from units and individuals throughout the province. Besides, the club members have made significant contributions to local organizations such as the Elderly Association, the Veterans Association, and Red Cross Association ….in Dong Nai province etc. On this occasion, the province’s Emulation Council awarded a diplomat of merit to the Provincial Women’s Club to recognize its outstanding contributions to social affairs in Dong Nai.
