Energy-efficient car team LH-EST from Lac Hong University will represent Vietnam at the Drivers' World Championship (DWC) Grand Final 2019 in London in July.

Energy-efficient car team LH-EST from Lac Hong University will represent Vietnam at the Drivers’ World Championship (DWC) Grand Final 2019 in London in July.

LH-EST is one of three Asian representatives at the competition, together with Antasena team from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology of Indonesia and Nanyang E team from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. They will compete with other teams from Europe and America.

The DWC 2019 winners will have a chance to visit Scuderia Ferrari headquarters in Italy and take part in training sessions by Ferrari experts.

To make their way to DWC Grand Final 2019, LH-EST team won the Urban Concept – Battery Electric category at the Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2019, where their energy-efficient car reached 170 kilometers per kWh.

Nguyen Thanh Trung, a member of LH-EST, said after his team won the title: “After three times losing to Philippine and Singapore teams in previous competitions, we finally fulfilled our dream of becoming champions thanks to our continuous efforts, unity and determination. We are very happy now and are looking forwards to competing at the DWC Grand Final in Europe.”
