At the end of the contest, the organizers warded the first prize to the project themed “Smart device for accessing information, news for blind people” to Ho Duc Tien of Thanh Phu High School in Vinh Cuu district. In addition, the organizing board also awarded 10 second prizes to 10 projects, 21 third prizes to 21 projects and consolation prizes to other projects. 6 outstanding projects were also selected to represent Dong Nai to compete at the National Science-Technology Competition for High School Students scheduled to be held in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in March, 2017.
This year’s contest held by Dong Nai Department of Education and Training (DoET) drew the participation of 142 entries of 253 contestants from 38 schools in the province. Of the entries, 69 outstanding research works were selected for the final round. Many of them can be applied into practical conditions and have high creativeness. Contestants with outstanding projects will be provided financial support from local businesses to complete and develop their projects.
The annual competition aims to encourage students to study science and technology and to apply the acquired knowledge into reality, contributing to increasing competitiveness on workforce in Vietnam with developing countries in the future.
