Today Microsoft announced the availability of Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise for business customers.
Microsoft also said, starting August 1, active Software Assurance customers who have Windows Volume Licensing can upgrade to Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows 10 Education editions.
According to Microsoft, they’ve made incremental improvements to security in Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 but with Windows 10 they have studied recent attacks and built security features to eliminate attacks altogether.
And below are typical Windows 10 features which have designed for enterprises and businesses:
Protection against modern cyber threats: In respect to this new feature, Vu Minh Tri, Microsoft Vietnam CEO said, “We have stepped up our game to protect user identity. We have studied data breach attacks in detail to build features/functions in Windows 10 that address and protect against those threats.”
“For example, with Windows Passport, businesses can log into line of business apps without a password. With Credential Guard, we can fundamentally block attacks by locking down the credentials on the device,” Tri added.
Managing for continuous innovation: Windows 10 can help to improve deployment and device management significantly, including ending “wipe and replace deployments” of the past. Windows 10 also helps businesses stay secure and up to date with the latest technology, enabling them to innovate.
Helping employees to be more productive: Windows 10 adapts to each person’s device without an IT administrator having to rewrite the app. People can also interact with a Windows 10 device in any way they want using a mouse and keyboard, touch, pen & ink or voice. Plus, organisations will have little to no training to undertake to move from Windows 7, 8 or 8.1.
Innovative devices for businesses: Windows 10 is defining new categories of devices such as HoloLens and Surface Hub for workplace productivity. Windows 10 will work with existing fleets, scale from the smallest of devices to ruggedized devices, small footprint devices (Internet of things) all the way up to 85” touch-screen conference room displays or holographic interfaces to support line of business scenarios.
Talking about Windows 10 security feature, Nguyen Viet Hai, eDT CEO shared, “Joining Windows Insider Program (WIP) since it was started, I found our Windows 10 is the right OS for business. My favorite functions are Remote file re-lock, which could help prevent former employees or partners from opening files even if previously authorised, encryption follows data; the limit rights for copying, printing, and data transfer to authorised applications and compliant devices and the ability of easy for authorised users to grant or revoke access permissions.”
In a recent survey conducted by Spiceworks in April and May of 2015, which included more than 500 respondents from North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), 60 per cent of IT departments surveyed have tested Windows 10 and 40 per cent plan to start rolling out Windows 10 this year.
“Windows 10 provides the security and management we need in a highly regulated environment,” said Jim Jenson, vice president of Information Service, SkyWest.
This survey also found 74 per cent of businesses plan to adopt Windows 10 by 2017, which, if that happens, would make Windows 10 the most quickly deployed version of Windows in history.
