The marathon, held annually by Shell, is a contest for students of technical majors to design, build and test ultra energy-efficient vehicles. This year’s contest attracts nearly 100 teams from countries and territories across Asia and the Middle East, vying for titles of the Prototype and Urban Concept vehicle categories.

Lac Hong is the first non-pubic university of Vietnam to participate in such a contest. The participating vehicle of the university is designed with four wheels and one seat for driver. It looks like sport car and can travel 100km with only one liter of E100 ethanol gasoline.

In addition to be a playing ground in technology and application, the event will offer a chance for students to understand how to prepare for, design and operate a vehicle and take use of available fuels.
