The 32 best teams from around Vietnam will attend the final round of the 2014 Robocon Vietnam competition in the central coastal city of Khanh Hoa from May 6-11.
Vietnam Television (VTV) and Toyota Motors Vietnam, the main sponsors for the contest, announced the information at a press conference on May 5.
The teams were picked from 161 representative teams from universities and colleges nationwide. The champion team will represent Vietnam at the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) slated for August in India.
The Robocon Techshow 2014 exhibition will be held on the occasion, aiming at encouraging students to apply their knowledge from Robocon competitions in the manufacture of high-tech and useful products for life.
At the 2013 Robocon Vietnam, teams from Lac Hong University in the southern province of Dong Nai won all three top prizes.
The Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) is an Asian Oceanian College robot competition founded in 2002 by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union.
To date, Vietnamese teams have won the championship three times; in 2002, 2004 and 2006.
