(ĐN) – Two teams from the Dong Nai-based Lac Hong University, LH-NVN and LH-DCN, won the first and second prizes at Vietnam Robocon 2014 held Khanh Hoa province’s Nha Trang city on May 11.
This is the fifth consecutive year Lac Hong University has won the champion title at Vietnam Robocon.
They will represent Vietnam at the 2013 Asian-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) which is scheduled for August in India.
On this occasion, the LH-NVN team handed over its champion prize money, US$1,400, to send to soldiers who stationed in Truong Sa Island to protect the country’s sea and islands sovereignty.
Themed “Robot family”, this year’s competition emphasizes the role parents play in bringing up children to become good citizens.
The competition featured the 32 best teams of the qualifying rounds held for the northern, central and southern regions last month.
Participating teams designed a robot–based family, including a robot parent (controlled by hands) and robot children (controlled automatically).
Vietnam has so far championed the ABU Robocon three times in 2002, 2004 and 2006.
